In July 2019, 34-year-old Randy Mueller was discovered deceased in his Daytona Beach apartment following a well-being check initiated by an acquaintance concerned over several days of no contact. Upon arrival, officers detected a foul odor and found Mueller's body under suspicious circumstances. Investigations revealed that Mueller had been kidnapped, tortured, and ultimately killed by a group of individuals.
The perpetrators, identified as Brandon Craft (29), Julian Fadley (19), Aziz
Felder (19), Jaheim Hicks (18), and Dionysius Nicols (17), were subsequently charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping. Authorities reported that the group had tortured Mueller for several hours at his apartment over missing marijuana before killing him.
Legal proceedings have led to significant convictions among the accused. In October 2023, Aziz Felder was found guilty of first-degree murder and kidnapping, resulting in a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Earlier, in November 2022, Dionysius Nicols was convicted on similar charges and sentenced to 35 years in prison. Additionally, in March 2023, Julian Fadley pleaded guilty to second-degree murder with a firearm and kidnapping, receiving a 40-year prison sentence.
