Tykey Nixon, a 28-year-old African American male from Crescent City, FL, was tragically killed in a shooting on January 5, 2020. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. in a vacant lot near Main Street and Florida Avenue, a popular hangout spot known locally as "The Tree." Nixon, a father of seven, was well-known in the Crescent City community. His death marked the first homicide in Putnam County for the year and the first in Crescent City in nearly a decade.
