De'Mari Jackson, a 16-year-old high school student from Fort Myers, Florida, tragically lost his life on April 24, 2022. Jackson was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a violent altercation in the Southward Village neighborhood. On that fateful evening, a fight broke out between two groups, and shots were fired. Jackson, who was trying to protect a girl by pushing her out of harm's way, was struck by a bullet.
