Joseph M. Malone, a 53-year-old resident of Newberry, Florida, was found dead on the night of June 16, 2022. The Alachua County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) responded to a report of a man lying on the ground next to a vehicle in the 24000 block of SW 30th Avenue, near Champions Park. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Malone had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. The circumstances surrounding his death prompted an immediate investigation by ACSO detectives.
