Ashley Marie Perala, aged 35, tragically lost her life on August 23, 2022, in Sebastian, Florida. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when deputies from the Brevard County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at approximately 1 a.m. Upon arrival at the residence on Oriole Circle in Barefoot Bay, they discovered Ashley Perala inside, where she was pronounced deceased. The initial investigation revealed that she had been shot, leading authorities to treat her death as a homicide.
The investigation quickly identified William Chambless, a 41-year-old man from Barefoot Bay, as a suspect. Chambless, who was reportedly in a relationship with Perala, claimed to have been in another room when he heard voices followed by a gunshot. He then found Perala and contacted law enforcement. However, discrepancies in his account emerged when investigators discovered a firearm outside the home that matched the caliber used in the shooting.
