Sofia Cardona, an 11-year-old girl from Nocatee, Florida, tragically lost her life on December 30, 2022, in what has been identified as a murder-suicide. The incident occurred at their home on Bucktail Avenue, where Sofia's father, who had been making suicidal threats, shot her before taking his own life. The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding the suicidal threats and upon arrival, they found Sofia with a gunshot wound.
