Daniel McKinnon, a 58-year-old constable from Dixon, California, tragically lost his life on November 22, 1918. McKinnon was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a suspect who had just shot a railroad brakeman. The incident occurred when McKinnon and the city marshal heard gunshots and pursued the suspect, who was fleeing down the highway.
