Captain Richard Barry Zbinden, a dedicated officer of the Pomona Police Department, tragically succumbed to a gunshot wound on August 13, 1991, at the age of 57. The injury that ultimately led to his death was sustained on August 28, 1959, when he responded to a call regarding a weapon brandishing incident.
