Edward Martin Buschbacher Jr., aged 27, was reported missing on November 14, 1984, after he and his friend Randy Peters failed to return home from a visit to Humboldt County. Their disappearance prompted a search, and on November 24, 1984, the bodies of Buschbacher and Peters were discovered on a marijuana farm near Weitchpec, California. The circumstances surrounding their deaths were immediately suspicious, leading to an investigation by local authorities.
