Jessy Jerrold "Jerry" Stayner, aged 42, was tragically found dead on December 26, 1990, in his home in Merced, California. Stayner, who worked as a dispatcher for Leavitts Trucking Inc., was shot with his own gun at around 1:20 p.m. after returning home for lunch. His body was discovered by a friend who noticed the front door open and decided to investigate. The case has remained unsolved for many years, with no immediate suspects identified at the time of the incident.
