Officer Sergio Carrera, a 29-year-old member of the Rialto Police Department, tragically lost his life on October 18, 2007, during a narcotics raid. Carrera was part of a six-man SWAT team executing a search warrant at a duplex on Cascade Street in Rialto, California. The operation, which began around 7:00 a.m., involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Colton and Rialto police departments, as well as agents from the U.S. DEA and ATF.
