Jose Manuel Torres, a 17-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on October 13, 2010, near North Avalon Boulevard and East Q Street in Wilmington, Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County coroner's records, Torres was shot in the head at approximately 9:22 a.m. while standing on the sidewalk.
