Dora Lee Dawson, a 64-year-old resident of Inglewood, California, tragically lost her life on October 8, 2013. The incident occurred in the 11700 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard, where Dawson was shot while attempting to protect her grandson, Datwan Henderson, during a violent confrontation. The assailant, identified as Justin Marquis Scott, a 19-year-old from Compton, had come to the apartment to confront his ex-girlfriend, Crystallyn May Nguyen, who was with Henderson at the time.
