Lewis Newton, a 42-year-old resident of Palermo, California, was found dead on October 11, 2013. His body was discovered underneath a tarp near his home, and it was determined that he had died from a gunshot wound. The Butte County Sheriff's Office quickly classified his death as a homicide, initiating an extensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding his murder.
