Marie Lorraine Smith, a 32-year-old woman, was tragically shot and killed on March 22, 2014, in Athens, California. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a liquor store located on South Vermont Avenue. Deputies in the area responded to the sound of gunshots and found Smith with multiple gunshot wounds.
