Henry Curtis, a 49-year-old parolee, died on May 24, 2014, in Lebec, California, following an officer-involved shooting. The incident began when deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic violence call at Curtis's residence on Starr Court. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Curtis, who was armed with a knife and refused to comply with their commands.
