Marquette Byron Carter, a 28-year-old man from Los Angeles, was tragically shot and killed on June 24, 2014. The incident occurred in the Vermont Square neighborhood, specifically in the 4800 block of South Western Avenue. Carter and a 21-year-old woman named Monique Brittanyann Campbell were sitting in a black Hyundai when a light-colored sedan pulled up next to them.
