The shooting occurred in the 1900 block of Boynton Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m. Judith was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 25-year-old man, identified as Michael Sherman Parker, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
This tragic event coincided with the fifth anniversary of her older brother Eric Bean's brutal murder, adding a layer of heartbreak to the family's grief.
Eric Bean had been tortured and murdered on December 19, 2009, by a group of individuals, including a childhood friend, during a methamphetamine binge. His body was discovered the following day on a rural road. The perpetrators of Eric's murder were eventually brought to justice. Timothy Delosreyes III, his father Timothy Delosreyes Jr., and Raymond Gardner were sentenced to prison for their roles in the killing. Melody Rives, who assisted in cleaning up the crime scene, served six months in jail after testifying against the others.
Judith's death, however, remains shrouded in mystery. No arrests were immediately made following the incident, and the investigation into her murder is ongoing. Her father, Jim Bean, expressed his disbelief and sorrow, stating that he did not believe his daughter's death was connected to her brother's murder. Judith had recently returned to Martinez from her father's home in Pittsburg to care for her sick mother, showcasing her kind and caring nature.
