Juan Carlos Rios, a 36-year-old resident of Strathmore, California, tragically lost his life on December 25, 2014, after succumbing to injuries sustained from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred on December 18, 2014, when Rios was ambushed outside his home on Avenue 204 in Strathmore. According to reports, several men were hiding in a nearby orchard and opened fire as Rios was opening his front gate.
Inside his truck was his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son, who witnessed the shooting but was unable to provide useful information to the investigators. Rios was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, where he fought for his life for several days before his family made the heart-wrenching decision to take him off life support. His organs were donated, and his heart continues to beat in another person’s body.
The investigation into Rios's murder has been ongoing, with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department actively seeking leads. Despite the passage of time, the case remains unsolved, and no suspects have been identified.
