Lance Corporal Dominic Eugene Schraft, a 19-year-old Marine from Vienna, Missouri, was found dead on October 5, 2015, at Camp Pendleton, California. Schraft, who was assigned to the 1st Marine Division, died from a gunshot wound to the head. His death occurred during a training exercise involving live ammunition. The incident took place on a shooting range at the base, where Schraft was participating in the exercise as a field radio operator.
