Mike Sebastian Cortez-Marquez, a 19-year-old from Redondo Beach, California, tragically lost his life on June 16, 2016. The incident occurred at the intersection of Inglewood and Marine avenues, near the boundary with Lawndale. According to reports, Cortez-Marquez and a friend had driven to a gas station at the southwest corner of the intersection around 4 p.m. While there, they encountered Erik Martinez, also 19 years old.
