Renee Dollene Mackenzie, aged 47, was found deceased on June 25, 2016, in Moreno Valley, California. The circumstances surrounding her death were tragic and complex. According to reports, Renee was discovered in a residence alongside her boyfriend, Joseph Anthony Mendez, aged 53. Investigators determined that Renee had been fatally shot, and Joseph was found alive but suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This led authorities to conclude that the incident was a murder-suicide.
