He had been shot to death while sitting at his desk. Authorities believe the murder took place between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. that evening. Earlier in the day, Weed, a local contractor, had been seen at a downtown pizzeria, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. He had spoken to his sister the day before, excitedly discussing the Christmas presents he had bought for his nieces and nephews.
In the nearly two decades that have passed since the murder, the case has remained unsolved, leaving a lingering sense of unease and unanswered questions within the Wilton community.
