Raul Alexander Jimenez-Calderon, a 19-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on April 5, 2017, in San Pascual Park, located near San Pascual Avenue and Comet Street in Highland Park, Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, the incident occurred around 8:55 p.m. while Jimenez-Calderon and his girlfriend were sitting at a picnic table. Two individuals approached them and opened fire, resulting in Jimenez-Calderon's death at the scene at 9:12 p.m.
His girlfriend, who was not injured, called the police immediately after the shooting. The suspects, described as wearing bandannas, were seen fleeing the park on foot.
The investigation into Jimenez-Calderon's murder has been ongoing, with the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division detectives leading the efforts. Despite the initial witness accounts and descriptions of the suspects, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. The police have urged anyone with information to come forward, offering anonymity through Crime Stoppers.
