Parvaneh Jilavi, a 60-year-old resident of La Jolla, California, was found dead on May 16, 2017, in what authorities determined to be an apparent murder-suicide. The tragic incident occurred in the upscale neighborhood of Mount Soledad, where Jilavi lived with her 80-year-old husband, John Mattiace. Police responded to a 911 call made by a man who reported that his friend's father had killed his mother.
