Anna Meza, a 31-year-old resident of San Jacinto, California, was tragically shot and killed on November 12, 2017. The incident occurred in broad daylight on North Dillon Avenue, where Meza was walking with a companion identified in court records as J.M. The assailant, later identified as Daniel Acevedo Cortez, approached them and opened fire with a .380-caliber semiautomatic pistol.
