The incident occurred at an apartment complex on Barton Road, where she was fatally shot. The primary suspect in her death was identified as her ex-boyfriend, Bradley Thomas Woss, aged 33. According to reports, Woss confronted McKinney at her apartment, leading to a violent altercation. During this confrontation, Woss shot McKinney, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
