Alejandro Diaz, a 45-year-old off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy, was fatally shot by police officers at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club in Fontana, California, on August 15, 2023. The incident began when Diaz's wife reported to authorities that he had fired a gun inside their home. Responding to the call, officers found Diaz at the golf course, where he allegedly pointed a firearm at them, prompting the officers to open fire. Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene.
