Christian Juarez, a 27-year-old resident of Fresno, California, tragically lost his life on March 6, 2021. On that evening, officers from the Southeast Policing District responded to a call regarding a shooting victim at the Villa Margaritas Apartment complex on North Recreation Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Juarez suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel, Juarez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into Juarez's death quickly identified Andrew Condee, a 26-year-old self-admitted dropout from the Sureno gang, as the primary suspect. Condee was spotted by detectives from the California Highway Patrol’s Help Eliminate Auto Theft (H.E.A.T.) team in the area of Marks and Clinton Avenues on April 7, 2021. When the detectives attempted to approach him, Condee fled on foot but was apprehended after a short chase. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with the murder of Christian Juarez.
The Fresno County District Attorney's Office filed formal charges against Condee on April 9, 2021. The motive behind the shooting has not been disclosed by the authorities, and the investigation remains ongoing. Detectives have urged anyone with additional information about the case to come forward to aid in the investigation. Condee's arrest and the subsequent legal proceedings have brought some measure of closure to the tragic incident, but the full circumstances surrounding Juarez's death are still being pieced together by law enforcement.
