Brock Thomas Boll, a 28-year-old resident of Gardena, California, was found dead on July 7, 2021, in a vehicle located on Jawbone Canyon Road and Kelso Valley Road, near Weldon, California. The Kern County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an unconscious man in a vehicle around 12:25 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Boll deceased in the driver's seat of a blue 2013 Volkswagen, which had multiple bullet holes.
A .45-caliber Remington Arms pistol was found in Boll's right hand, and the firearm was registered to him. Initial reports indicated that 90 bullet casings were found around the vehicle, raising suspicions about the circumstances of his death.
The coroner's office identified Boll and initially did not determine the cause and manner of death. However, further investigation revealed that Boll had a gunshot wound to his head, and the coroner later ruled his death a suicide. Despite the unusual scene with numerous bullet casings and the damaged vehicle, the investigation concluded that Boll had taken his own life.
There were no arrests, suspects, or litigations related to Boll's death, as the investigation by the Kern County Sheriff's Office and the coroner's findings pointed to suicide rather than foul play. The case did not proceed to any murder or law cases, and no further investigations were reported following the coroner's ruling.
