In December of 2018, the quiet community of Ballston Spa, New York, was shaken by a devastating tragedy that unfolded within a home on Adams Circle. Twelve-year-old Emma Jones, a seventh-grade student at Ballston Spa Middle School, was found deceased in her home, the victim of a violent act that also claimed the life of her mother, Jennifer Jones, age 43.
The grim discovery was made after Emma’s father, Steven Jones, age 46, failed to report for his job at GlobalFoundries, prompting a wellness check by police.
Upon their arrival at the residence, law enforcement officers peered through a window and saw Steven Jones's body in the living room. Forcing their way inside, they uncovered the full extent of the tragedy. Jennifer and Emma were found in separate bedrooms, both having been shot. Investigators determined that Steven Jones had shot his wife and daughter before turning the gun on himself in a murder-suicide.
