In the early hours of a Sunday in Rochester, New York, the life of Richard Clay GodBold, a 36-year-old Black / African American male, was tragically cut short. On November 8, 2020, what began as a night at a large party in a warehouse on Central Avenue, near Ormond Street, ended in a fatal shooting. As GodBold was leaving the gathering, he and another man were struck by gunfire.
Wounded, GodBold attempted to flee in his vehicle, but the severity of his injuries led to him crashing into a
vacant house on North Street. Despite the immediate response of emergency services and being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The second man who was shot during the incident was also transported to the hospital and was expected to survive his injuries.
