In the early morning hours of a November day in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a violent encounter tragically cut short the life of Frederick Matthews. On November 17, 2016, the 45-year-old man was with a friend, having just left a bar in the 4100 block of Plank Road. It was approximately 1 a.m. when their path was crossed by two unknown men who brandished handguns and demanded their money.
