On November 24, 2016, 22-year-old Terrance Jackson was shot and killed in New Orleans while at a bus stop in New Orleans East. The incident occurred during a robbery in which Jackson struggled with his attacker over his backpack. He was shot in the head during the struggle and later died in the hospital. The suspect, Erin Alonzo, was later linked to the crime through DNA evidence collected at the scene and arrested in 2019.
