In the early morning hours of February 16, 2022, a journey on a Long Island Rail Road train ended in tragedy for 20-year-old Yusef Staine of West Babylon. Staine, a young male, was shot and killed while on a westbound train stopped at the Ronkonkoma station. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m., and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
