On September 10, 2017, Garrett Burton, also known as the rapper Da Real Gee Money, was shot and killed outside his recording studio on Dallas Drive in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Burton, aged 22, had been an up-and-coming artist in the local hip-hop scene, known for his association with TBG (Top Boy Gorilla).
