On a violent November night in Baltimore, Maryland, 35-year-old Gerard Slowe was tragically killed. The incident took place on November 10, 2014, at approximately 8 p.m. in the 3400 block of Mondawmin Avenue in West Baltimore. Slowe was on his front porch when he was approached by at least one individual. During what appears to have been a robbery attempt, he was shot in the face. He was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The evening was marked by other violence in the city, including another fatal shooting.
Following the shooting, the Baltimore Police Department began an investigation to find those responsible for Gerard Slowe's death. Their efforts led to a significant development in the case approximately four months later. On March 10, 2015, authorities announced the arrests of two suspects in connection with the homicide. The individuals taken into custody were identified as 20-year-old Karon Foster and 31-year-old Willie Taylor.
Both Foster and Taylor faced serious charges for their alleged involvement in the crime. They were charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy, and various weapons offenses. According to court documents, witnesses identified Foster as the person who shot Slowe. The documents also allege that Taylor announced the robbery and stole a handbag and a cell phone from a woman who was with Slowe at the time of the incident. Following their arrests, both men were held at the Baltimore City Detention Center.
