In February of 2011, a tragedy unfolded in Louisville, Kentucky, culminating in the death of six-month-old Ariah Phillips. The infant girl was rushed to Kosair Hospital with multiple injuries, including severe brain injuries and head trauma, from which she would not recover. The subsequent police investigation into her death would span two years, treating the case as a homicide from the outset.
