Do you know who murdered Donald Giles? In the early morning hours of a Sunday in West Louisville, police were called to the 2200 block of Kentucky Street where they discovered a man inside a Jeep Liberty who had been shot at least once. The man was identified as Donald Giles, a 44-year-old white male. He was rushed to University Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries on June 24, 2012.
Authorities at the time canvassed the neighborhood, going door to door in an attempt to find witnesses who may have heard or
seen anything that could lead to a suspect. The incident left residents in the area concerned and in shock, with some waking up to the scene of police sirens and a blocked-off street.
The case of Donald Giles's death is listed as an open homicide. Louisville Metro Police have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The investigation into his death remains ongoing.
