Michael Franklin, a 41-year-old resident of San Francisco, was killed on December 14, 2016, in Oakland, California. The incident took place at a gas station located at Edes Street and 98th Avenue in East Oakland, shortly after 9 p.m. Franklin and another victim, 19-year-old Sean Banks from Oakland, were shot during an apparent confrontation. The Oakland Police Department responded to the scene, but both victims succumbed to their injuries shortly after the incident.
