In the early hours of Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, the life of 19-year-old Ray Anthony Joseph Jr. was tragically cut short on the streets of Louisville, Kentucky. An altercation in the area of 40th Street and Grand Avenue escalated into gunfire, and when police responded to a call around 12:40 a.m., they found the young Black male fatally wounded. Two other individuals were also shot during the incident but were transported to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
