In the early morning hours of a May weekend in 2018, the life of a young man was tragically cut short in a burst of violence at a nightclub in Coward, South Carolina. Malcolm Devon Spates, a 23-year-old male, was fatally shot at the Down Beat Club. The incident, which also resulted in another person being injured, prompted a swift response from the Florence County Sheriff's Office.
