On the morning of August 13, 2018, her life was cut short by a fatal gunshot wound at her residence located at 101 Dogwood Drive. The Hampton County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, launched an immediate and thorough investigation into the homicide. Their efforts quickly led to the identification of a person of interest. Shortly after the incident, authorities arrested James Duvall Love, a 36-year-old man from the nearby town of Fairfax.
