In the early morning hours of a Saturday in west Louisville, a life was tragically cut short. On November 10, 2018, Mark Cotton, a 53-year-old Black male, was found shot in the Russell neighborhood. The discovery was made just after 5:30 a.m. in the 200 block of South 28th Street, near West Market Street.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found Mr. Cotton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite any efforts to assist him, he was pronounced dead at the location. The Jeffer ...
