On September 3, 2014, Antoine Johnson, a 43-year-old Black male, was fatally shot at a residence in California, Missouri. The tragic incident led to swift police action and the arrest of Donald Bateman, a 68-year-old white male, who was identified as Johnson’s father-in-law. Bateman was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killing.
