Who murdered Alta Marie Braun in 1917?
Alta Braun, a 12-year-old girl from Le Mars, Iowa, was tragically murdered on the night of August 20, 1917. After spending the evening enjoying the Yankee Robinson Circus and riding the merry-go-round with her friends, Alta was last seen walking home around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. Her body was discovered the next morning in an alley. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled to death. Her bed at home was found undisturbed, indicating she never made it home that night.
