Matthew Scott Chism, a 25-year-old Deputy Sheriff with the Cedar County Sheriff's Office in Missouri, tragically lost his life on November 2, 2014. Deputy Chism was shot and killed in the line of duty following a vehicle pursuit and foot chase in El Dorado Springs. The incident began shortly after midnight when Deputy Chism attempted to stop a vehicle for driving without headlights. The vehicle fled, leading to a pursuit.
