In Willard, Missouri, the life of 54-year-old Edward Lee Rollins came to a tragic end on February 12, 2015. What initially appeared to be a quiet death in a small town soon unfolded into a grim tale of murder-suicide.
Authorities were called to a residence in Willard where they discovered the bodies of Rollins and a woman identified as Sherry Rollins. The subsequent investigation by the Willard Police Department pieced together the final moments of their lives.
It was determined that Edward Rollins had shot Sherry Rollins three times before taking his own life.
At the scene of the devastating event, investigators found a pistol, ammunition, and a significant quantity of over 200 prescription pills, painting a bleak picture of the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The findings of the investigation, as stated by Willard Police Chief Tom McClain, concluded that Edward Rollins was the sole perpetrator in the incident. Consequently, with the suspect in the murder also deceased, the case was closed without any further arrests or pursuit of other individuals.
