Spence Jackson, a prominent political figure and the media director for the Missouri State Auditor's office, was found dead in his Jefferson City apartment on March 29, 2015. Jackson, aged 44, was discovered after his mother requested a well-being check when she was unable to reach him. The police found Jackson with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and a .357 magnum handgun was located at the scene along with a single spent shell casing.
