On the evening of Sunday, March 29, 2015, authorities discovered the body of Spence Jackson, a 44-year-old male, inside his apartment in Jefferson City, Missouri. The discovery was made after his mother, concerned that she had been unable to reach him throughout the weekend, requested a welfare check. Officers arrived at the residence in the 900 block of Southwest Boulevard and gained entry with the assistance of the property manager.
