Christopher Todd McGregor, 44, a man from the small community of Zalma in southeast Missouri, died on March 4, 2016, in Marble Hill.

In the pieces of his life that surfaced publicly afterward, he was described as a husband—married to Sara Watkins since the early 1990s—and someone who worked with his hands and the land, a lead equipment operator for the State of Missouri and known around home for training quarter horses.
