Christopher Todd McGregor, 44, a man from the small community of Zalma in southeast Missouri, died on March 4, 2016, in Marble Hill.
In the pieces of his life that surfaced publicly afterward, he was described as a husband—married to Sara Watkins since the early 1990s—and someone who worked with his hands and the land, a lead equipment operator for the State of Missouri and known around home for training quarter horses.
The death itself was tied to a gun-violence incident recorded that day in the Glenallen/Lorance Township area near Marble Hill, an event tallied as two people killed and one person injured. In that same incident record, Ethen Sullivan is listed as the subject-suspect who also died, with the relationship between Sullivan and the injured person described as a current or former significant-other connection.
